Conservation: Reducing ressources & waste

In the world we envision every human has access to clean water and sanitary facilities. Therefore, we value companies such as Geberit which facilitate access to water and hygiene. One of the issues Geberit focuses on is the frugal and mindful use of the scarce resource of water. Geberit has analyzed its value chain; its water footprint shows that almost 100 % of water consumption happens during a product’s use phase. Therefore, Geberit focuses on developing more efficient products to enable their customers to save water. As of today, Geberit has saved 31 million cubic meters through water saving rinsing systems: Only in 2019, water savings equaled the amount of 1.248 million Olympic pools (3.12 billion m³). In 2007 Geberit implemented an eco-design approach for innovation and design processes. From choosing raw materials to the disposal of a product all environmental aspects are considered. Any new product ought to be more ecological than its predecessor.
