Climate protection: Reducing emissions
In 2021, Hannon Armstrong invested $1.7 billion in climate solutions saving over 800.000 metric tones of CO₂. Besides saving emissions through its investments the company has implemented an internal carbon pricing system. This means that any emissions from company activities are penalized with a fee. Each year, the total internal carbon fee is donated to the Hannon Armstrong Foundation, which supports climate solutions in disadvantaged communities.
