This is Tomorrow's new Impact Council

Published March 18, 2025

The Impact Council is an essential body for us that supports us in achieving our ambitious sustainability goals. At the beginning of the year, we made new appointments to the Impact Council, which has been in place since 2020. Here you can find out who we are thankful for and say goodbye to and which great new experts will now be supporting our work.

The Impact Council, which we set up in 2020, is a central body at Tomorrow and supports us in achieving our ambitious sustainability goals. It is involved in all strategic questions relating to sustainability and regularly checks whether we are meeting our standards. In this way, the Impact Council ensures that our mission, strategy and goals are adhered to in the long term and implemented in every decision.

After all, sustainable finance is a complex topic that requires in-depth specialist knowledge and is constantly evolving. There are often no simple answers, but rather many perspectives that need to be taken into account. The Impact Council contributes this expertise, asks critical questions, provides impetus and helps us to involve the various stakeholder groups and expand our impact.

At the same time, in addition to transparency, which is essential for us, it is in line with the zebra mindset that we live by as a company. Namely, that great goals can only be achieved through exchange and joint work, and the exchange with our independent experts is an important part of this process.

Many thanks to the former members of the Impact Council

Our Impact Council consisted of the following members until the end of 2024:

  • Kristina Lunz, co-founder of the Center for Feminist Foreign Policy

  • Andreas Neukirch, former Managing Director of GLS Bank

  • Susanna Krüger, co-founder of the bcause project, former CEO of Save the Children Germany

  • Prof. Dr. Markus Beckmann, Chair of Corporate Sustainability and Management at FAU

These experts have supported us enormously in recent years and achieved several impact milestones with us: among other things, we launched the Tomorrow Fund sustainable equity fund, revised our sustainability strategy, launched the Spekboom renaturation project in the Eastern Cape, the first project financed solely by Tomorrow customers, we are one of the two most sustainable banking providers in Germany according to Fair Finance and have financially supported numerous projects with the donation and rounding-up feature - and much more.

We would like to say a big thank you to Kristina Lunz, Susanna Krüger and Andreas Neukirch, who have had a significant influence on Tomorrow's sustainability as members of the Impact Council since fall 2020. Prof. Dr. Markus Beckmann - this much can be said at this point - will remain with us on the newly appointed Impact Council.

Curtain up for our new Impact Council
